CATHOLIC CEMETERIES WALK TO REMEMBER

During October, the month of the Most Holy Rosary, Catholic Cemeteries Association invites families to participate in a half-mile walking Rosary in honor of departed loved ones at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.  We walk, we pray, we sing, and we remember.  For those who cannot walk or in case of rain, the Rosary will be prayed in the mausoleum or in the cemetery office.  At the end of the Rosary, there is a brief candle lighting ceremony in remembrance of our dearly departed.  This is a great communal prayer opportunity.  Whether walking or not, you can also honor your departed loved ones on our “In Remembrance” Wall.  Submit names by September 30th to be included for the month of October.  Pre-Register and/ or submit Remembrance Names by phone (216-930-4866) or online at https://bit.ly/3Bby3Mj, For more info go to www.clecem.org

Due to political unrest and closed borders, the mission trip to Africa has been delayed.  With the uncertain events of this world, our group has decided to plan this trip for January 2023.  Thank you for your donation which will continue to be used for the Malian people of Africa in our upcoming trip.  Thank you for your support and prayers for the people of Mali during these very difficult times.  We look forward to sharing with you, our community, the work we will do when this trip can be completed.

SYNOD LISTENING SESSION

In April 2021, Pope Francis initiated a synodal journey of the whole People of God, beginning in October 2021 and concluding October 2023.  The theme for this synod is “For a Synodal Church:  Communion, Participation and Mission.”  All baptized Catholics are invited to participate in this process of listening, dreaming and discerning God’s call for the church.  This process is done through one listening session of 6-8 people which meets for 1 ½ hours.  If you are interested, contact: Debbie (Debbie@stcypriansparish.com) or Jason (jziga23@gmail.com) to ask questions or confirm attendance.  Two different sessions will be offered, one of March 24 from 6:30 – 8 p.m. and another on March 26 from 3-4:30 p.m.  Each individual matters and each of our experiences are valid and in need of ears to listen.  All are welcome.  We are on this journey of faith together.  In seeking where God has been beckoning to us, we also look to where that same call harkens us forward into a new and vibrant way of being Church together.

CHRIST CHILD RED WAGON EVENT

Christ Child Society will host their Red Wagon Reverse Raffle Dinner at La Malfa on April 23 from 5 – 10:30 p.m.  All proceeds go to help children in Lake County.  To purchase tickets go to www.christchildwesternreserve.org by April 12.  Questions? Call Donna Perrine 440-221-7140

9 DAYS FOR LIFE

9 Days for Life is an annual novena for the protection of human life. Each day’s intention is accompanied by a short reflection and suggested actions to help build a culture of life.  Participants can download the novena or sign up to receive the daily prayers via email or text message.  www.respectlife.org/9-days-signup

PERRY CENTER INFORMATION

The Perry Center of Lake County wants to thank everyone for their support.  Without prayers, financial support and volunteers, the Food Pantry could not operate.  This is what they’ve been doing recently:  They are now letting clients enter the Food Pantry to shop for food.  They have purchased a new commercial upright freezer for the food room to replace an old chest freezer.  Most of the freezers and refrigerators are 20-30 years old and they plan to slowly replace them as monies become available.  Thanks to the generosity of participating churches and community organizations this is now possible.  They’ve also provided backpacks “stuffed” with school supplies for 51 children.  If you are interested in becoming a volunteer and/or board member, you can contact The Perry Center 259-3332 and ask for Carole Martin or Brenda Carr.  Thank you for your support!

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS RAFFLE

Knights of Columbus Geneva-Madison Council 5286 is sponsoring a Virtual Reverse Raffle on Friday, February 18.  Main Board tickets are $40 with $2, $3 and $5 side boards. If interested or if you have questions, contact Dave O-Reilly 440-622-2154 or Dingle428@roadrunner.com

CALLING ALL MEN!

St. Cyprian Parish will again be sponsoring the virtual Catholic Men’s Conference from 2232 Men on February 12.  More information in the coming weeks or contact John Decker at 440-466-0692 with questions.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

Are you looking for a way to help individuals in your community?  Hospice of the Western Reserve is recruiting new volunteers to support patients and families in the following areas:  Making phone calls to patients/families, Virtual Veteran visits/recognition ceremonies, End of Life Doula, helping patients care for their pets and Attorney/notary volunteers.  Two virtual training series are held every month for new volunteers.  For more information, call 216-255-9090 or hospicewr.org/volunteer

ONLINE GIVING

Forms are available on the parish website if you are interested in an electronic option for making your regular weekly or monthly offering.  Contributions can be automatically debited from your checking or savings account.  If you are currently giving on a weekly basis, you will no longer need to write out 52 checks a year.  This program will allow your weekly or monthly contributions to continue on an uninterrupted basis when travel, illness or other circumstances prevent you from attending Mass. Forms can be placed in the basket at Mass or given to Father George or one of the deacons.

BULLETIN DEADLINE

Notices for the bulletin must be submitted in writing or emailed to Kelly in the parish office by 10 a.m. on Mondays.
