ST. CYPRIAN BLOOD DRIVE

St. Cyprian will host a blood drive on Jan 9 from 1-6 p.m. where you’ll be automatically entered to win a trip for two to Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans! The winner and guest will get to enjoy Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, access to day-of in-stadium pre-game activities, tickets to the official Super Bowl Experience, round-trip airfare to New Orleans, three-night hotel accommodations (Feb. 7-10, 2025), plus a $1,000 gift card for expenses. DIVORCE RECOVERY FOR CATHOLICS

Join us from the comfort of your home for this 8-week support group that is developed to meet the needs of those who are separated or divorced. Sessions focus on relevant topics and provide valuable information and direction along with the tools for coping with this life-changing experience. Being part of a group provides the opportunity to share experiences, support and encouragement. The meetings are facilitated by a caring, trained professional. Registrants will receive an invitation to the meeting directly from the facilitator. Please contact kjubeck@st-gabriel.org to register or for more information. Registration closes January 10.

FEST INTERNSHIP

The FEST is looking for motivated college interns for a paid internship this summer as we plan and prepare for FEST 2025! If you are a marketing, communications, logistics, or theology major and interested in building your resume while getting real-life experience creating an event for 40,000 people, apply today. St. Bede’s will be hosting GriefShare, a nine-week support program, on Mondays January 20 through March 17 from 1-3 p.m. in the library. GriefShare is a Christian based program whose goal is to offer guidance, support, and encouragement to those who are dealing with the death of a loved one.  For planning purposes, please RSVP to Cindy Cole cindy@stbedementor.org or call her at the parish office 440-257-5544. Please provide your name, email, phone number and the relationship to your lost loved one. 

RETROUVAILLE

Retrouvaille is designed to help married couples develop improved ways of communicating and relating to each other in order to overcome challenges. This program consists of a weekend experience Jan 17-19 and 6 follow up sessions. For more info or to register: www.helpourmarriage.org or 440-836-4810

MOZART, STILL & CHRISTMAS

The Cleveland Opera cordially invites you to Mozart, Still & Christmas, a one-hour, costumed, semi-staged concert that will bring to you beloved vocal and instrumental music from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and William Grant Still, as well as other selections celebrating the spirit of Christmas. Catholic Cemeteries Association continues their free monthly in-office grief support group on December 15 In-Office at 3 p.m. at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon and Virtual at 5 p.m. They offer a comfortable, private and safe environment where you are free to explore your grief.  Meetings are open discussion format, surrounding a monthly topic or whatever is on your heart.  If you are not yet able to talk about your grief, come and listen and be in the presence of those who understand.  The December topic is “The Gift of God’s Presence: You Never Walk Alone”.  Please RSVP rabrams@clecem.org or 216-930-4866

FINDING PEACE THROUGH THE HOLIDAYS

Divorce is difficult but holidays can bring up feelings that make it harder. Whether you’ve just started your journey or have been divorced for a longer time, join us for an afternoon dedicated to finding the peace and joy the season can bring. THANKSGIVING CHILDREN’S PROCESSION

Thanksgiving Day is a great day to come together as a family at 9 a.m. Mass to thank God for the blessings of the year while the turkey cooks at home. Children are welcome to join the opening procession dressed as pilgrims and indians. We can provide hats if needed. Please bring a non-perishable donation for the Perry Center that can be brought up with the offertory gifts. Children can meet in the back of the church during the collection. All are welcome to join us for donuts and coffee in Alexander Hall immediately following Thanksgiving Day Mass.

HANNAH’S HOME GIVING TREE

St. Cyprian is partnering with Hannah’s Home for their 2024 Giving Tree Project. There are tags at the front and back of the church with various items to purchase for Hannah’s Home moms and their children. These will be used as Christmas presents, earned items for participating in the program and to run the home. Please do not wrap the gifts. Return them unwrapped to the boxes located at the front and back of the church by December 15.

CHILDREN’S BOOKS

Sue Crellin, a St. Cyprian parishioner, graciously donated some children’s religious books to our church.  If your young child would like to enjoy them during Mass, they are located on the back of the last pew of the church. Thank you, Sue!

ST. NICHOLAS CELEBRATION

December 8 will be St. Cyprian annual St. Nicholas Celebration! St. Nick will be in the church and Alexander Hall after the 11 a.m. Mass. There will be a photo opportunity, and Ladies Guild will provide cookies and punch in Alexander Hall following the 11 a.m. Mass. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun!

CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD

St. Cyprian Children’s Liturgy of the Word takes place during 11 a.m. Mass on Sundays.  Preschool aged children and older are welcome to join us as we leave Mass before the readings and return during the Offertory.  This is a time for the children to hear the word of God in their own way with activities.

ST. CYPRIAN BLOOD DRIVE UPDATE

We surpassed our patient need goal by 8 pints, collecting a total of 33 pints which will eventually help approximately 99 people in need!  Thank you to everyone who helped support our blood drive!

Congratulations to Greg Anderson, our Early Bird drawing winner! Tickets are still on sale for our Annual Reverse Raffle to be held Saturday, October 26.  The cost for a main board ticket is $75 which includes dinner.  Companion dinner tickets are $25.  Sideboards will be available as well as a 50/50 raffle and a bottle raffle.  Come join us for a Great evening! Tickets will be sold after Masses and at the parish office.

Hurricane Helene made landfall as a devastating Category 4 storm, leaving widespread destruction across the Southeast. ST. CYPRIAN PRO-LIFE COMMITTEE

During 40 Days for Life, the Pro-Life Committee invites you to pray with us for an end to abortion in front of Signature Health.  No abortions are performed there but Family Planning is located in the building, and they provide referrals. St. Cyprian’s group will be witnessing on October 19 from 10-11 a.m.  Please join us at 54 South State St. in Painesville to pray for an end to this abomination. WORLD MISSION SUNDAY

World Mission Sunday is on Oct 20th. The Church in the United States was once mission territory, supported by the generosity of Catholics worldwide. Today, we continue this legacy by ensuring that the Gospel reaches the ends of the earth. Our contributions help build and sustain communities of faith in places where the Church is still growing or facing persecution. This mission is a testament to our faith in action, reflecting the universal call to share Christ’s love. As we reflect on this year’s theme, “Go and invite everyone to the banquet,” let us recommit to supporting our global Church family.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD

St. Cyprian Children’s Liturgy of the Word takes place during 11 a.m. Mass on Sundays.  Preschool aged children and older are welcome to join us as we leave Mass before the readings and return during the Offertory.  This is a time for the children to hear the word of God in their own way with activities.

PERRY CENTER WISH LIST

COAST TO COAST ROSARY FOR LIFE

Devoted Catholics of all ages across North America are uniting in prayer on October 6. You are invited to join this extraordinary movement that is designed to mobilize and energize multi-generational groups of children and families. Join us October 6 at 4 p.m. in St. Cyprian Grotto (weather permitting) to help combat the forces of evil by praying with others throughout the country for the gift of human life.

BLANKET SUNDAY

The 38th Annual Blanket Sunday appeal kicks off the weekend of October 12-13.  Last year, funds from the appeal were used to purchase nearly 5,000 new winter blankets, in addition to hats, gloves and other necessities provided to unhoused neighbors.  Donations can be made securely online: svdpcle.org.  Checks may also be mailed to St. Vincent de Paul Society Blanket Sunday, 1404 East 9th St. – 3rd Floor, Cleveland 44114.  Thank you for helping us “blanket” neighbors in warmth and compassion!
